Water law is constantly evolving with rapid changes in physical, regulatory, and social risks. States in the Colorado River Compact face water cuts due to decreasing supply, while sudden unexpected disasters can render local water resources unusable. Discover how water laws and regulations may affect your operations and what areas you should monitor in an ever-changing regulatory landscape. This session will identify water rights by region along with the regulatory risks that accompany water use in those regions and how you can prepare for any changes to water use laws in areas where you operate in while promoting water stewardship.

This session will review requirements under the recycled content legislation passed to date in CA, WA, NJ and ME, as well as the recycled material volumes available to fulfill those requirements based on the latest U.S. plastics recycling data report. The session will also include discussion of the four U.S. Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) state laws passed to date, how and when they are expected to impact bottled water producers in terms of recycled content or other requirements, and what the APR is keeping an eye on in terms of potential Federal or state policy activity.
